DIRT ROAD DOG CO.®
Hunt Driven. Heart Raised.
Field Bred English
Cocker Spaniels
& Small Munsterlanders
welcome to
dirt road dog co.
We’re a family-owned kennel in Climax, Georgia, and we’ve bred, raised and hunted Field Bred English Cocker Spaniels since 2008. It all started when Derry became a quail guide and needed a dog that could work hard in the woods and still be part of our family at home. That search led us to the English Cocker, and to a mentor who helped us build our program on direct UK import bloodlines. In 2017, we added the Small Munsterlander, a versatile breed that brings the same drive and family-dog temperament.
Our dogs aren’t just bred to hunt. They do it every season. Every breeding dog is genetically health tested, every puppy is whelped and raised in our home, and every litter is placed through our waitlist so each pup is matched to the right home. Our kennel is family-run and we stay a phone call away long after your puppy goes home.
Whether you’re looking for your next hunting partner, a loyal family companion, a guided quail hunt, or training for your own dog, we’d love to help. Hunt Driven. Heart Raised. That’s been our motto from the start, and every dog that leaves here lives up to it.
The DIRT ROAD DOG CO. Difference
Proven in the Field
Our program started in the quail woods, and our dogs still work there every season, behind real hunters, on real birds. We breed for the drive and nose a working dog needs.

UK Import Bloodlines
Our English Cockers descend from distinguished UK field-bred bloodlines that we’ve carefully developed and preserved for more than 15 years. We remain dedicated to maintaining the integrity of these bloodlines, thoughtfully selecting each pairing to produce dogs that reflect the quality, natural ability, and characteristics the breed is known for.
Genetic Health Testing
Every one of our English Cocker Spaniels is genetically health tested for heritable diseases before it's bred. We screen hips and elbows through OFA and PennHIP, test eyes, and run DNA tests for inherited conditions like progressive retinal atrophy (PRA). Only healthy, genetically sound dogs are used in our breeding program. Learn More

Raised in Our Home
Puppies are whelped inside and monitored closely, and their feet don't hit the ground until they've had their 8-week vaccinations. Our kennel is inspected at random by the American Kennel Club.
Matched, Not Just Sold
We don't hand out puppies first come, first served. Selection happens at 4–5 weeks, when personality and drive start to show, so we can help match every pup to the right hunting home or family.
WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
"From our first phone call with Jessica, we could tell the Cannons do things differently. They took the time to understand what we wanted in a dog and helped us pick the right puppy from the litter. Our English Cocker is everything they said she'd be: a driven, eager hunter in the field and a sweet, gentle member of our family at home. Even now, a quick call or text gets us an answer. You're not just buying a puppy from the Cannons, you're joining their DRDCo family."
